Mounties are seeking more information as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged sexual exploitation involving a Langley, B.C., man known in the equestrian community. The investigation was launched in December 2023, after reports of historical sexual offences that were alleged to have occurred in Langley and Delta between 2000 and 2003. Isauro Antonino Flores has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation, involving two victims. In a news release Thursday, Langley RCMP said they believe there may be additional victims within the equestrian community who have information, but have not yet come forward. “Anyone who has information, regardless of how old it may be, is strongly encouraged to contact the Langley RCMP,” Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said in the release. “We understand that coming forward can be difficult, but it is important, and we encourage you to speak with investigators. Support services are available for anyone affected.” In October 2024, Equestrian Canada released a statement on its website, saying Flores had breached a number of provisions in their code of conduct and also engaged in “grooming and sexual maltreatment.” The organization added that Flores was barred from participating in any of its events for a decade. “On Oct. 30, 2024, a hearing panel issued a decision on disciplinary sanctions,” the statement reads. “Given the seriousness of the respondent’s conduct, and in consideration of the totality of the circumstances, found that the respondent is permanently ineligible to participate in any capacity in any program, activity, event, or competition sponsored by, organized by, or under the auspices of EC. After a period of 10 years, an application may be made to EC to be reinstated in any capacity.” RCMP ask any additional victims or anyone with information to call them at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2023-41605
