Police and family members continue to search for Gurminder Dhaliwal, who was last seen near a SkyTrain station in East Vancouver last weekend. The 46-year-old suffers from liver disease and has difficulty walking because of his illness. He was last seen on Saturday, April 25, near 29th Avenue SkyTrain Station, according to a Wednesday news release from the Vancouver Police Department. The VPD followed up its initial statement with an update saying “initial reports” that Dhaliwal had been located “were premature.” He remains missing. Police described Dhaliwal as a South Asian man who stands 6′2″ and weighs 196 pounds. He was last seen wearing Merrell hiking boots and a blue or grey hoodie with “Team Canada” written on the front. “Mr. Dhaliwal’s family wants people to know he is not a risk to the public,” the VPD release reads. “If seen, please call 911 and wait with Mr. Dhaliwal until police arrive.”
