Mounties in North Vancouver are searching for two suspects after an arson attack on a home in the Dollarton neighbourhood on Halloween night. Firefighters and police were called to a structure fire in the 4000 block of Dollar Road just before midnight on Oct. 31, according to the detachment. Police say the house sustained “extensive damage” and the owners, who were not home at the time, remain displaced. CCTV video obtained by police shows two people lighting what appears to be a firework and throwing it through an open window before the fire. “We’re relieved that no one was hurt, but the impact of this incident is still significant,” Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said in a news release issued Thursday. “Someone’s home was destroyed, and this has deeply affected a family and their neighbours. Our officers are pursuing every lead to identify those involved and prevent something like this from happening again.” Anyone with information is urged to call the detachment at 604-985-1311 or contact Crime Stoppers to leave an anonymous tip.
