Homicide investigators have identified the victim of a “targeted and brazen” killing in Abbotsford Friday. Police were called to reports of a shooting on the 3200 block of Siskin Drive at around 12:38 p.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds who died on the scene. Navpreet Dhaliwal, 28, has been identified as the victim, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said he is “known to police.” Authorities said his name is being released in order to help advance the investigation, which has already linked the fatal shooting to the B.C. gang conflict. IHIT told CTV News no photo is being provided of the victim at this time. However, the Abbotsford Police Department provided a photo of Dhaliwal in 2024, saying he was connected to the B.C. gang conflict and presented a “significant public safety risk.” “This was a targeted and brazen shooting that took place in the middle of the day.
