A man who was arrested after an extortion-related shooting in Abbotsford, B.C., last year has been linked to additional violence targeting businesses in another city, according to authorities. Gursewak Singh, 22, was arrested after shots were fired at a business on King Road on Dec. 17, 2025, and charged with reckless discharge of a firearm the following day. The Abbotsford Police Department announced Tuesday that Singh has been charged with five additional offences in that incident, including extortion with a firearm, and that the investigation identified him as a “common suspect” in two investigations out of Surrey. Singh was also charged in connection with those incidents—which occurred in the same week as the shooting in Abbotsford. In the first case, shots were fired at a business that had previously reported extortion threats—damaging the building, but causing no injuries. In the second, two vehicles were found on fire in the parking lot of a business that had also reported extortion attempts, the Surrey Police Service said in a statement Tuesday. Singh has been charged with eight offences out of Surrey, including arson and extortion.
