School principal charged with child luring A man who recently worked as an elementary school principal in Mission, B.C. has been charged with child luring.

The former principal of a B.C. elementary school has been charged with child luring, weeks after he was allegedly targeted in a sting by the Fraser Valley Creep Catchers.

On Friday, police revealed 37-year-old Jason Alan Obert was arrested and released on several court-ordered conditions, including that he not communicate with anyone under 18 years old or use any online dating or social media sites.

Obert was the principal of Windebank Elementary School in Mission before video surfaced of an Oct. 14 Creep Catchers sting, which was conducted in the food court of an Abbotsford mall.

The group alleges their target was attempting to meet up with a 14-year-old girl for sex.

"Anytime we deal with a crime that involves a person in authority it's concerning, but we do a thorough investigation," Const. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department said.

"We would hope other individuals who might have information to share would come forward."

The Mission school district told CTV News that Obert is no longer working at Windebank and is not receiving pay, but couldn't comment further on his employment status due to privacy restrictions.

The elementary school has had a new principal since late-October, the district said.

Police said they started investigating Obert after they became aware of the Creep Catchers video, and that officers met with members of the online vigilante group over the course of their probe.

Obert's other conditions include that he not visit any park, school ground, daycare, pool, playground, skating rink or community centre where people under the age of 18 might be present, unless in the company of an approved adult.

He is also barred from directly or indirectly contacting anyone known to be involved in the sexual exploitation of children or who trades or owns materials involving child sexual exploitation.
