A former mixed martial arts fighter from Abbotsford has received a conditional sentence after crashing a vehicle into an RCMP community policing centre in Langley nearly two years ago. Kultar Singh Gill, known in the MMA world as “Black Mamba,” pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. He was handed a conditional sentence of two years less a day, to be served in the community. The crash happened on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023. Video posted to social media shows a vehicle speeding along Fraser Highway in Langley’s Aldergrove neighbourhood, crossing a concrete median. A woman’s legs appear to be hanging from the vehicle before it crashes into the Aldergrove community policing centre. According to an agreed statement of facts, Gill had consumed alcohol and cocaine in the hours leading up to the incident. He forced his way into the driver’s seat, causing the woman’s legs to dangle from the vehicle. The court heard he drove for four kilometres before crashing. The woman sustained extensive injuries to her legs. Gill fled the scene on foot and was arrested nearby. He spent 123 days in pre-trial custody before being released on bail. He was originally facing additional charges, including aggravated assault and two counts of failing to stop. Those charges were stayed. Court records show the case was classified as a “K” file by the B.C. Prosecution Service — a designation used when the accused and victim have had a close, personal or intimate relationship. Gill previously ran a martial arts academy in Abbotsford. Under the terms of his sentence, he will remain under house arrest for six months, with exceptions for work and medical appointments. After that, he will be subject to a nightly curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. He was also given a one-year driving ban.
