A woman who found a Lotto 6/49 ticket she bought almost a year ago while cleaning out her purse has claimed a significant prize. Albertina K. bought the ticket “on a whim” in February of last year, according to the B.C. Lottery Corporation. After finding the ticket in her purse, she asked her daughter to scan it using the corporation’s mobile app and discovered she had matched five out of six numbers and won $245,448.80. “I was oblivious! I couldn’t believe it,” Albertina told the BCLC. recalled of the moment she found out she won. Her first move after the windfall was to celebrate with her family over dinner, but she told the BCLC she’s still figuring out how she will spend the money. “It will probably change my life a bit,” she said. The odds of matching five out of six numbers in a Lotto 6/49 draw are roughly one in 55,492.
