A Kelowna, B.C., man who won a whopping $31 million jackpot said he doesn’t plan to make any major lifestyle changes after the windfall. Ingo Abresch won the LottoMax draw earlier this year, according to a Monday news release from the BC Lottery Corporation. He found out about the win when checking the PlayNow app at work. “I looked at my account and saw a big number in the right corner. I clicked on the ticket, and the song rang,” Abresch told the BCLC. “I was dumbfounded, there were lots of zeros!” The first person he told was his partner, who also had trouble believing the news. “When I phoned her, she had to ask who was calling—she thought it was a scam,” Abresch told the BCLC. Asked about his plans for life as a newly minted multimillionaire, Abresch said he’s not planning major changes to how he lives his life, according to the BCLC. He is, however, looking forward to an easier retirement, a “few more trips” and how it will feel to “not worry when dining out.” The odds of winning the top LottoMax prize are approximately one in 33,294,800. Monday’s news from the lottery corporation comes after a weekend on which someone who purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket in the province won $46 million. RELATED STORIES:
