A registered nurse on the Sunshine Coast has been disciplined for “six instances of unprofessional communication.” Carla Hundley’s misconduct occurred between September 2024 and October 2025, according to a notice from the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives published late last month. The misconduct also included “one instance of not documenting care or conducting necessary follow-up when providing care to a patient assigned to another nurse,” the notice adds. It does not describe the context of the unprofessional communication, but does note that the communication in question happened “despite employer intervention.” The college’s online directory lists Hundley’s primary employer as Qathet General Hospital in Powell River. The BCCNM’s investigation committee made the disciplinary order against Hundley with her consent. In the order, she undertakes not to repeat the misconduct and to complete remedial education related to professional standards for registered nurses and “communicating in conflict.” “In directing this order, the investigation committee considered that the respondent licensee’s conduct breached the BCCNM documentation, professional responsibility and accountability, knowledge-based practice, and ethical practice standards,” reads the notice on the BCCNM website. “The Investigation Committee also considered that the respondent licensee did not gain any benefits from her conduct and has no previous disciplinary history.”
