Authorities announced charges Friday against three men for their suspected involvement in a pair of shootings at a Surrey mansion late last year, and one is wanted by immigration officials Canada-wide after he reportedly escaped from a hospital. The shootings happened Nov. 8 and 12, 2025, at a house in the 17000 block of 32 Avenue, according to police. Avtar Singh, now 22 years old, was charged with one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm in December. On Friday, the B.C. Extortion Task Force said an additional charge of extortion was laid against Avtar Singh. Police also announced charges against two other foreign nationals— Sandeep Singh, 28, and Jagdeep Singh, 24—in relation to the shootings. Sandeep Singh was charged with one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm and one count of extortion, and Jagdeep Singh has been charged with one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm. Avtar Singh and Sandeep Singh are currently in custody, police said. Jagdeep Singh’s whereabouts are unknown and Canada-wide warrants are out for his arrest from both RCMP and the Canada Border Services Agency. Mounties in Alberta also announced charges against Jagdeep Singh Friday, in relation to extortion shootings in Parkland County, west of Edmonton, in October and November. There, he faces two extortion charges and several firearms offences. Jagdeep Singh was arrested in Red Deer on Nov. 17 and released to the CBSA. He subsequently escaped from a Calgary hospital during a medical assessment, according to authorities. The B.C. RCMP asked anyone with information about Jagdeep Singh’s whereabouts to call police. He is described as a 5’10” man weighing 100 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
