VANCOUVER - Vancouver police say they're making progress in the investigation of a brazen shooting at a east side restaurant that killed two people and injured six.

Const. Howard Chow says even though police aren't giving minute by minute updates on the case, it's still an active investigation.

Three people remain in hospital and their conditions are described as non-life-threatening.

Chow says there are no connections to this file and the recent arrests of suspected gang members in Abbotsford last Friday.

A firearm that was seized in that incident was described as being similar to the one used in the Vancouver shooting.

The restaurant where the shooting took place has been handed back to the owners, but police don't know whether they would continue to operate.
