HALIFAX - Two Quebec men are facing charges after Canada Borders Service Agency officers found 32 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a shipment of canned beans from Colombia.

The seizure was made Sept. 1 at the Port of Halifax but details were only released Thursday.

The agency said the shipment of beans was in a container that arrived from Cartagena.

The shipment was allowed to continue on to Quebec, where the two men were arrested Sept. 15 at a warehouse in Lachine.

Luis Carlos Moreno, 48, and Julian Andrey Mazuera, 32, are in custody on charges of conspiracy to import cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
