Heat returns to Toronto after a brush with below-seasonable weather on Wednesday. Environment Canada is calling for sunshine and a high of 26 C on Thursday, feeling closer to 30 with humidity. Friday will see more sunshine and the daytime high will rise to 27 C, feeling like 30 when factoring in the humidity. “Temperatures rebound to seasonable today after a cooler than normal Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are looking bright and beautiful with warm afternoon skies and low humidity,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said. “At this point, the weekend is looking warm but a bit unsettled.” Highs in the high 20s will continue through the weekend, but rain may put a damper on weekend plans. The national weather agency said daytime highs of 28 C and 29 C are in the forecast on Saturday and Sunday respectively. A mix of sun and showers is expected on Saturday and more rain, along with cloudy skies, will arrive on Sunday. The smoke that shrouded Toronto and much of southern Ontario in an orange haze last week has not returned, even though wind patterns today are bringing down air from the northwest, Coulter added. “The invasion of dense smoke and haze over the GTA has ended, at least for now. We’ll continue to monitor the situation with northern Ontario forest fires and the prevailing wind direction for future local impacts,” he said.
