The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed free agent reliever Tyler Rogers to a three-year deal. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the deal is worth US$37 million with a fourth-year vesting option. The 34-year-old pitched for the San Francisco Giants to start the 2025 season before being traded to the New York Mets on July 30. He has a career earned-run average of 2.76. The signing is Toronto’s second move on Friday. They also acquired right-hander Chase Lee from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for lefty Johan Simon. The 27-year-old Lee appeared in 32 games for the Tigers as a rookie this year, posting a 4.10 earned-run average with a 1.10 WHIP, a 6.1 per cent walk rate, and a 24.3 per cent strikeout rate.
