A 45-year-old man has died more than seven months after being struck by a tow truck in Mississauga. Peel police provided the update on Wednesday. The collision happened on the afternoon of Dec. 16, in the area of Rathburn Road East and Dixie Road. Police said a pedestrian was crossing the road when he was struck by a tow truck. He was later taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man died in the hospital on July 29, police revealed in a news release on Wednesday. Peel police identified the tow truck driver as Abner Zuniga. The driver was initially charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm in March, but police said Zuniga now faces an upgraded charge of dangerous operation causing death.
