Niagara police have released images of a suspect and a vehicle in connection with a “targeted” shooting in Grimsby that left one person injured Wednesday night. Both Niagara and Hamilton emergency services responded to the shooting as it happened around the Grimsby-Stoney Creek border on the South Service Road near Kelson Road North. Police said officers found a male victim who was then transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the suspect fled and was last seen running south on Kelson Road North from the South Service Road. He is described as a Black male with a slim build and was last seen wearing black slim-fit track pants, black and red coloured shoes, white socks, and a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath. Police said the suspect was carrying a blue reusable shopping bag. The vehicle involved is believed to be a late 2000 to mid-2010 grey or silver sedan with dark-tinted windows, a tinted sunroof and a large dent on the driver’s side rear door. “Detectives believe the shooting was targeted and believe that there is no ongoing risk to public safety,” police said.
