Durham police investigating smash-and-grab robbery at Pickering mall

Durham police are investigating after a smash-and-grab robbery at the Peoples Jewellers located at The Shops at Pickering City Centre.

People can expect a large police presence at The Shops at Pickering City Centre due to an ongoing jewelry store smash-and-grab investigation.

Durham police said just before 1 p.m. they responded to a robbery at the Peoples Jewellery store inside the mall at 1355 Kingston Rd., just east of Liverpool Road.

Investigators say several suspects entered the business with what are believed to be hammers and crowbars.

The suspects fled the area in a vehicle.

No injuries have been reported at this point, police said.
