Man dead following stabbing in Scarborough, woman arrested

The stabbing, which originally occurred near Kingston and Galloway, has left one man dead. A 43-year-old woman has now been arrested.

A man in his 60s is dead and a woman is under arrest following a stabbing inside an apartment building in Scarborough on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened in the West Hill neighbourhood, at 4301 Kingston Rd., near Galloway Road, just south of Lawrence Avenue East.

Toronto police said they were called to that area at 6:50 p.m. for reports of a person who had been stabbed with an “edged weapon.”

There, officers said they found a male in his 60’s with “serious” stab wounds.

Speaking with reporters at the scene, Insp. Jon Rose said life-saving measures were performed by first responders, however the man who had been stabbed succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has not been identified.

“I can tell you that police located the suspect a short time later, and that person is in custody, a female, 43 years of age, of Toronto, has been arrested,” he said.

“I can tell you that the suspect and the victim are known to each other. This investigation is in its very early stages, and it is ongoing.”

The circumstances surrounding this fatal stabbing remain unclear at this time, however there is no threat to public safety.
