Toronto police have now identified the victim of a homicide that took place in the city’s west end early Friday evening. In a news release issued Saturday, police identified the victim as 21-year-old Serenity Brown. Officials say officers were called to the Glenlake Avenue and High Park Avenue area at around 5:50 p.m. for reports of a “medical call.” Police say Brown was found inside a vehicle with injuries and transported to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. At the time, Duty Insp. Errol Watson told reporters paramedics found the woman in critical condition before she died at hospital. He added it was too early in the investigation to confirm the nature of her injuries. “We do not have any information that led to the incident, but I can tell you, the victim was having an interaction with a male, and that male was seen leaving the area,” Watson said on Friday. Brown is the city’s 30th homicide victim of the year. No suspect description has been released.
