Road closures will be in effect this weekend for one of the biggest summer events in the city. The Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s Grand Parade takes place this Saturday, and will see several major closures in and around Exhibition Place. Toronto police announced Thursday that the closures will take effect on Saturday Aug. 1 at 12 a.m. and continue until Sunday Aug. 2 until 6 a.m. They include: The following Gardiner Expressway ramps will also close at 12 a.m. on Saturday, August 1: Police say residents and visitors should expect traffic delays as a result of the parade and guests are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use public transit. “The service is also expecting increased activity in the evening hours at restaurants and nightclubs,” police said in a news release. “The service will have dedicated resources in the downtown core and waterfront areas in the evenings to maintain public safety and to respond quickly to any incidents.” For a full list of related road closures and restricted access points, click here.
