Canada’s men’s soccer team will play Tunisia and Iceland in Toronto before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, multiple sources have confirmed to TSN. The friendly matches will take place sometime in late March, and offer soccer fans in Toronto a preview of what to expect when Canada, ranked 27th, takes the world stage in June. Canada, like the United States and Mexico, automatically qualified for the World Cup as one of the host countries. They’re set to play the winner of a March playoff between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Northern Ireland, and Wales in Toronto on June 12. The squad will then head to Vancouver to play Qatar on June 18 and Switzerland on June 24. Tunisia is currently ranked 41st in the world and will play in Group F, against Japan and the Netherlands, as well as the winner of a separate European playoff between Albania, Poland, Sweden and Ukraine. Iceland, ranked 64th globally, did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Sources confirm that Haiti, ranked 84th, will also travel to Toronto to play Iceland and Tunisia. The matches are expected to be formally announced by Soccer Canada this week. It’s unclear if captain Alphonso Davies will play in the March matchups after suffering a ACL tear in 2025.
