Snow could impact morning and afternoon commute in Toronto on Friday

Drivers in the city could see some active weather on Friday that has the potential to impact both the morning and afternoon commutes.

“We are watching for the possibility of some snow, maybe impacting your Friday morning commute and the afternoon drive,” CTV Toronto Weather Specialist Lyndsay Morrison said Wednesday.

“It doesn’t look like a whole lot of snow, certainly not compared to what we’ve experienced recently.”

About two to five centimetres of snow is expected to come Friday, a far cry from the record-breaking snowstorm in January that brought upwards of 60 centimetres of snowfall to parts of Toronto over a 24-hour period.

But she said the upcoming snowfall could still create messy conditions on GTA roadways.

Friday is also expected to bring the warmest conditions Toronto has seen all week, with a high of -2 C.

The temperature will abruptly shift to an overnight low of -20 C. More frigid conditions are expected over the weekend.
