Three shootings in Toronto’s northwest under investigation

Toronto police are investigating after a shooting early Monday morning in Etobicoke sent one man to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One person was seriously injured in one of three shootings at businesses in Toronto’s northwest early Monday morning.

Toronto police say they were called to the intersection of Belfield Road and Kipling Avenue in Etobicoke at 5:37 a.m. for reports of “unknown trouble” at a business in the area.

Evidence of gunfire was located at the scene and a man in his 30s was transported to hospital. Toronto paramedics say his injuries are serious, but non-life threatening.

The suspects fled in a vehicle.

No suspect descriptions are available at this time.

A little over 15 minutes earlier, police were called to a business near Weston Road and Fenmar Drive in North York for reports of a shooting at a business there.

No injuries were reported, but police say a building was damaged.

At 2:43 a.m., police responded to a suspicious incident and the sounds of gunshots at a commercial property near Dufferin Street and Steeles Avenue West.

Evidence of gunfire was located at the scene and businesses in the area were damaged, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Councillor ‘deeply concerned’ by gun violence

In a post on social media, York Centre Coun. James Pasternak said he’s “deeply concerned” by the aforementioned incident.

“My office is in contact with 32 Division and Toronto police as they investigate,” he wrote on Facebook.

“To the business owners and residents impacted, I stand with you. I will continue pushing for the resources and supports needed to keep our neighbourhood free of violence.”

Unclear if 3 shootings connected

It’s unclear if the three shootings are linked.

Toronto police told CTV News that any possible connection would be part of the investigations.
