Man in hospital following shooting in North York

Police are investigating after a man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a shooting near Jane St. and Northwoods Gate.

A man is in the hospital following a shooting in North York on Monday night.

Toronto police say the incident happened near Jane Street and Yorkwoods Gate, just south of Finch Avenue West.

They say they were called to that area just before 7 p.m. for reports of the sound of gunshots and have located an adult male victim who had been shot.

Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.

His injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.

A media officer told CP24 that they believe the victim may have been found at a secondary scene near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West. A vehicle is seen there in the middle of the street.

Investigators have not released details about the circumstances surrounding this shooting.
