The FBI has released a new photo of Canadian fugitive Ryan Wedding, a former Olympian accused of running a billion-dollar international drug trafficking ring. The photo, which was released by the U.S. law enforcement agency via social media, is believed to have been taken in Mexico last summer, the FBI said. It shows Wedding lying in bed, shirtless, exposing a large tattoo on his chest. It is not clear who took the photo or how it was obtained by the FBI. Various photos of Wedding have been released since October 2024, when the former Olympic snowboarder was first identified as the alleged kingpin of a drug-trafficking operation that police say transported hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from Colombia, through Mexico and Southern California, and into Canada. Wedding and his alleged “second in command” Andrew Clark are accused of directing four murders in Ontario. The U.S. Department of Justice also alleges that Wedding ordered the January murder of a key witness in the case against him. Authorities have said they believe the 44-year-old is hiding out in Mexico under the protection of the Sinaloa Cartel. Earlier this year, officials increased the reward for information leading to Wedding’s arrest from US$10 to $15 million. He remains on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list.
