Toronto Blue Jays fans hungry for something to celebrate during a difficult season can at least brag about their big appetites. The ball club announced Tuesday night that, for the first time in franchise history, fans have eaten one million Loonie Dogs in a single season. The promotion, presented by Schneiders, runs during every Tuesday home game and offers up hot dogs for just $1. To mark the occasion, the club said that fans received a “1 million Loonie Dogs” commemorative T-shirt as they left the Rogers Centre. Last season, fans set the previous record of 826,308 Loonie Dogs eaten in a single year. The all-time single-game record for Loonie Dogs consumed was on April 7, 2025 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Prior to Tuesday night, the average number of Loonie Dogs consumed per night in 2026 was 92,526, according to the team. The news will be bittersweet for fans as the Jays struggle to get above .500, punctuated by a 5-3 loss to the Kansas City Royals Tuesday. As it stands, Toronto sits last place in the American League East and three games back of a wildcard spot.
