1 male dead after motorcycle, car collide in East York

One male is dead following a motorcycle crash in East York early Tuesday morning, Toronto police say.

Police said it happened just after midnight in the area of Bayview Avenue and Pottery Road.

A male motorcyclist lost control after colliding with a car in the area and was pronounced dead on scene, according to police.

No other injuries were reported.

Police said the collision reconstruction unit responded to the scene and will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Bayview Avenue was closed in both directions south of Pottery Road for several hours but reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
