Public tips helped track down a third suspected war criminal, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews announced on Tuesday afternoon as part of a public crackdown on suspected fugitives.
The Canadian Border Services Agency arrested Manuel de la Torre Herrera, a 58-year-old man from Peru, on Monday.
The arrest comes days after the federal government launched a website listing the names of 30 suspected war criminals on July 21.
Two other alleged fugitives were arrested within two days of the list hitting the Internet.
Cristobal Gonzalez-Ramirez, a 44-year-old man from Honduras, became the first suspect on the list to be arrested when police tracked him down in Calgary on July 22.
One day later, Arshad Muhammad, a 42-year-old from Pakistan was arrested in Toronto for his suspected links to an Islamic terrorist organization.
Most of the individuals on the most-wanted list are believed to be living in Quebec, Alberta and Ontario.
The list of suspected fugitives has been accused of being put together without sufficient evidence, a claim that Immigration Minister Jason Kenney has vehemently rejected.
Kenney has said that the people on the list were barred from staying in Canada and should be kicked out.
Both Kenney and Toews have encouraged anyone with information on the 27 remaining suspected fugitives to call the CBSA Border Watch line at 1-888-502-9060.
The most-wanted list was released a day after Kenney announced that the government plans to plans to revoke the citizenship of 1,800 people suspected of obtaining their status "through fraudulent means."
Since 1867, Canada has revoked the citizenship status of only 66 people.
