MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. - Police in the Metro Vancouver community of Maple Ridge have arrested a 48-year-old man after paintballs were allegedly fired near officers.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Hector Lee says police were called Wednesday evening after someone allegedly entered a home and threatened its owner.

Lee says the investigation to the suspect's home, and when officers arrived, several paintballs were shot toward them.

He says police took cover and made contact with the suspect, who was then taken into custody.

There were no injuries and Lee says police seized the paintball gun and other weapons.

He says the suspect is in custody and will appear in court on Thursday.
