TORONTO -- Toronto FC unveiled two new defenders on Day 1 of training camp Monday but questions remain about who will captain the team.

Head coach Greg Vanney sidestepped the issue of skipper, saying it was early days at camp. But all signs point to star midfielder Michael Bradley taking over the captain's armband from veteran defender Steven Caldwell.

Bradley is currently with the U.S. national team.

Toronto added to its defence by signing Polish international Damien Perquis and acquiring Eriq Zavaleta in a trade with Seattle.

Zavaleta is Vanney's nephew.
