TORONTO - Italian playmaker Sebastian Giovinco was officially introduced by Toronto FC on Friday.

The five-foot-four forward from Juventus was all smiles as he answered questions through an interpreter at the Air Canada Centre before holding up his No. 10 jersey for the cameras.

Giovinco, who drew a crowd at the airport upon his arrival Thursday, thanked fans for their warm reception and said he would try to pay back their welcome and trust with his performance on the field.

The Toronto team is currently in pre-season training in Florida. The 28-year-old Italian international will join his new teammates when they return home next week.

General manager Tim Bezbatchenko called Friday's introduction an exciting day for his MLS club.
