TORONTO -- Canadian water-skier Whitney McClintock has won gold in the women's slalom event at the Pan Am Games.

She finished first in the six-skier field at Ontario Place West Channel.

McClintock won gold a day earlier in the overall competition.

She is also entered in the tricks final and the jump final later in the day.

Her brother, Jason McClintock, is entered in the men's slalom and the tricks competition.

McClintock's gold, the 65th at these Games for Canada, set a new national Pan Am record. The previous record of 64 gold medals was set in Winnipeg in 1999.
