NEW YORK -- Canadian Eugenie Bouchard has withdrawn from women's doubles and mixed doubles competition at the U.S. Open on Saturday.
The Westmount, Que., native suffered a head injury after falling in the locker room following a mixed doubles match on Friday night with partner Nick Kyrgios.
A statement from U.S. Open officials says the extent of the injury is being assessed by medical staff.
Medical staff recommended that Bouchard withdraw from Saturday's matches and there's no determination whether she will continue in singles action.
Bouchard has turned her season around at the U.S. Open and reached the fourth round of the tournament with a 7-6 (9), 4-6, 6-3 win over Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova in singles action on Friday.
Bouchard, ranked No. 25, entered the tournament having lost 13 of 16 matches in WTA and Fed Cup play.
The 21-year-old is due to face Italy's Roberta Vinci in singles play. Vinci had beaten Bouchard 6-1, 6-0 in the second round of a U.S. Open tuneup in New Haven, Conn., last week.
Bouchard and Kyrgios were due to face fourth-seed Martina Hingis and Leander Paes in mixed play at Flushing Meadows. In doubles action, Bouchard and Russia's Elena Vesnina were scheduled against sixth seeded Americans Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears.
An update on her condition was expected later Saturday.
