WINDSOR, N.S. - The sentencing of a Nova Scotia man convicted after burning a cross outside the home of an interracial couple has been delayed.
The Crown and defence agreed today to adjourn the sentencing of Justin Rehberg to Jan. 11.
The 20-year-old Rehberg of Avondale, N.S., was convicted on Nov. 5 of inciting racial hatred.
His 21-year-old sibling, Nathan, was convicted four days later of inciting racial hatred and criminal harassment.
The brothers were charged after Shayne Howe and his wife Michelle Lyon awoke in the early hours of Feb. 21 to see a cross burning in front of their home in Poplar Grove, N.S.
The cross had a noose around it.
