Something went wrong with Facebook Thursday afternoon, but rest assured: you were not alone.
Millions of baby pictures, cat videos, engagement photos and oh-so-witty status updates temporarily vanished from the Internet on Thursday afternoon, as a brief service outage on Facebook sent social media-starved users running to Twitter to complain.
Facebook came back up within minutes of going down, but not before Twitter was flooded with memes, GIFs, jokes and howls of anguish over the disruption.
