Bus fares are scheduled to go up in July, the first of two rounds of planned price increases that Saskatoon Transit says will help address the rising costs of running the service. Starting in July, the price of a single adult ride is going up 25 cents to $3.25, the City of Saskatoon said in a news release Friday, and a single high school ride will soon cost $3. As usual, there’s a discount if you buy bulk or monthly passes. Here’s a list of the changes, which take effect July 1: The price of the city’s equity offerings, including its low-income and discounted social service passes, will remain unchanged, and children in Grade 8 and below will continue to ride for free. Beyond covering the rising costs of fuel and maintenance, the City of Saskatoon says the increased revenue will help maintain the affordability of its equity-based fares. A second round of fare increases will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
