The Saskatoon Blades and Prince Albert Raiders are set to renew their Highway 11 rivalry Friday as the WHL regular season gets underway. Prince Albert will host the first half of the home-and-home series, with the Blades welcoming the Raiders to Saskatoon on Saturday. Prince Albert will raise the 2024-25 East Division Champions banner in a pre-game ceremony. The Raiders advanced to the second round of the 2024-25 WHL Playoffs, falling to the eventual WHL champion Medicine Hat Tigers. The Blades were swept by the Calgary Hitmen in the first round. Prior to the regular season getting underway the teams met four times in WHL pre-season action, with Saskatoon winning three games. The Blades recently named 20-year-old Tyler Parr team captain, and 20-year-old Justice Christensen will again wear the ‘C’ for the Raiders. Puck drop for the Blades and Raiders games Friday and Saturday is at 7 p.m. All five Saskatchewan-based WHL teams are in action Friday. Swift Current hosts Regina, and Moose Jaw travels to Brandon.
