Spring temperatures have finally arrived in Prince Albert. Local golfers at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course are looking forward to the season. “Just playing in the majors here—the Northerns,” said member Tyler Benoit. “Just having fun with the guys. We’ve got a good group here. It’s a beautiful course. So, we’re just excited to get out there.” Member Preston Rindal said April 25 was his first day at the driving range. “I haven’t been able to get out yet, but with the course opening tomorrow I had to come sharpen the game up a little bit before I step out there.” The driving range was in operation a week before the opening day of the 18-hole course, which Head Professional Ryan Wells said wintered extremely well. “It’s been busy,” said Wells. “This weather’s been incredible for April, so any golf in April is a bonus here in Saskatchewan. And then we’re starting off on a great start.” Maintenance staff were out Friday afternoon before opening day to make final preparations.
