Saskatchewan entertainer and founding TeleMiracle host Blake Emmons has died at the age of 81. Emmons was part of the first TeleMiracle in 1977, helping launch what would become one of the province’s most enduring annual fundraisers. A country music singer and television personality, he also hosted the CTV series Funny Farm, billed as Canada’s answer to Hee Haw, and later co-hosted a nationally syndicated Nashville music program. A veteran himself, Emmons helped organize the Wounded Warrior Weekend in Nipawin, an event that brought more than 100 soldiers from across Canada and the United States together to fish, golf, and connect as part of their rehabilitation and recovery from PTSD.
