Traffic restrictions are in place on Circle Drive after a large vehicle hit a train bridge overpass in Saskatoon. Police said the collision happened between 108th Street and Attridge Drive Sunday afternoon. As of 4:11 p.m., only one northbound lane was open while investigators assessed the damage at the scene and determined next steps. Police are asking motorists to use caution in the area. In an update sent shortly after 4 p.m., police said trains have resumed operating and are using the overpass as normal. However, vehicle traffic on Circle Drive between 108th Street and Attridge Drive will remain restricted to a single northbound lane until further notice. The City said CPKC engineers are assessing the structure, and the inspection is expected to be completed on March 23. This is the third incident this month in Saskatoon involving machinery striking overpasses. On March 5, an overpass on Highway 11 was damaged after it was hit by a semi. On March 11, the overpass on 108th Street over Circle Drive was struck by a semi hauling an excavator. The most recent incident happened outside of Saskatoon. On March 16, a semi truck carrying an excavator hit an overpass on the Trans‑Canada Highway east of Moose Jaw while heading south on Highway 39.
