Nine Saskatchewan companies are set to receive part of a nearly $2.2 million investment from Innovation Saskatchewan to help local technologies reach new markets and support long-term growth. The funding comes through the Saskatchewan Advantage Innovation Fund (SAIF) and the Agtech Growth Fund (AGF), programs run by Innovation Saskatchewan. “It is a multi-year program that we have been putting funds into, to support our early-stage growth and development,” said Warren Kaeding, the minister responsible for Innovation Saskatchewan. “We have been at this for a few years and see the important value of supporting our tech sector into the future.” Greenwave Innovations, an AI-powered energy and asset management platform, was a 2021 and 2024 SAIF recipient. President and CEO Dean Clark said the funding was essential to the company’s development. “We couldn’t do it without programs like this,” Clark said. “It’s critical to the development of our product, our plans to explore nationally, to take our products to the world.” The 2025 SAIF and AGF recipients include Kinemek, NRGene Canada, Teal, Amb. AI, RUNNR, X-Stream-intake Agriculture Products, AgScouter, B-Nature, and NutraMate. Recipients were selected by an independent panel based on their business plans and readiness for commercialization. Since 2018, SAIF has invested more than $17.3 million in 66 projects, while AGF has invested over $5.3 million in 28 projects since 2020.
