Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating after they received a report of a sharp object found in Halloween candy in Balgonie. White Butte RCMP received the report on Nov. 1 that a chocolate bar collected during trick-or-treating in Balgonie had been tampered with. There were no injuries reported. If there is a risk to public safety, RCMP say they will notify the public. The RCMP advises parents and guardians to check any candy children have collected, and report anything suspicious to their local police. In a response to CTV News, the Regina Police Service (RPS) say they’ve not received any reports of tampering with candy this Halloween. However, RPS echoed RCMP’s advice to remind parents and guardians to continue to be vigilant in checking treats. Balgonie is located about 28 kilometres northeast of Regina.
