A new program being offered through Economic Development Regina (EDR) is targeted at helping companies advance and grow within their sectors. Six businesses make up the first cohort of the Upscale Business Growth Program. Through the program, the businesses will be provided professional services, as well as one-on-one guidance with the intention to establish long-term success. “We are going to work with them to develop a very specific, tailored growth program to what they are needing at this stage in development,” said Mandy Pavlovsky, the manager of entrepreneur and emerging sectors at EDR. Kyle Moffatt is the co-founder of Sticks & Doodles. He said the company is looking to expand and grow from the new program. “We have now reached a point where we would like to continue growing but we need help,” Moffatt explained. “It really is the ticket for us to take that next step which will allow us to support our community better.” There were over 20 companies who applied to take part in the program. The six companies are from a variety of fields, with unique ambitions for the future. “It’s been really great to be able to demonstrate the value of the Greenwave platform. We’re very excited to be able to showcase that on a national level,” explained Christie Gamble, the vice president of sales and marketing at Greenwave Innovations. The upscale business program is scheduled to run for the next three years, with other cohorts being planned to help continue growing companies in the area. “Every single company needs something every unique at this point. These are already successful companies, they’re just wanting to take that next step,” Pavlovsky noted. The program was made possible by funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada.
