QUEBEC - A man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy before dumping him in an abandoned oil drum near Quebec City last July.

Pierre Defoy pleaded guilty today to kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and unlawful confinement.

The Crown agreed to drop three other charges against Defoy, including inciting sexual contact, possession of juvenile pornography and kidnapping a minor.

The 51-year-old man grabbed the boy as he rode his bicycle in Levis, just across the St. Lawrence River from Quebec City.

Defoy then locked him in the trunk of his car.

The boy was later found tied in an old heating oil tank in a Quebec City building where Defoy worked as the janitor.
