TORONTO -- Stars singer Torquil Campbell has recruited Feist, Dave Bidini and Dan Mangan for a series of concerts intended to inspire young people to oust the Conservative government.

Under the umbrella .ImagineOct20th, four shows have so far been scheduled in Winnipeg, Toronto and Vancouver.

The performers for the Sept. 24 show in Winnipeg have yet to be announced, but Campbell, Feist, Bidini, Joseph Boyden, the Sadies and Emm Gryner are among the acts expected at an event in Toronto on Sept. 30.

Mangan, Robert Wilson, Veda Hille and Reid Jamieson are on the bill for the first two events in Vancouver, at Biltmore Cabaret on Oct. 1.

The website for .ImagineOct20th declares that the NDP has the best chance of forming a new government but suggests citizens of certain ridings should vote strategically to oppose the Conservatives.

"We want to encourage Canadians to finally oust the Conservative government, and to encourage young people to vote in general," reads the website.

"In a country where the majority of voters did not vote for the current government, the Conservatives can only benefit from electoral apathy."
