An eight-year-old child was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire in a Longueuil triplex that broke out early Saturday morning.

The blaze began at 2154 Ste. Helene St. at 2 a.m.

The four other people in the building evacuated without injury.

The fire appears to be accidental, said the Longueuil fire department, but they are investigating the incident.

Dollard blaze

Hours earlier, a home in Dollard-des-Ormeaux was also heavily damaged by fire.

It broke out in a storage shed behind the home at 141 Rouville St. just before midnight, and spread to the roof of the residence.

Five people were in the home at the time, and one was treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of that fire is under investigation.
