A 62-year-old Bonnechere Valley Township man facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash in the Ottawa Valley registered more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit, according to police. Ontario Provincial Police responded to a crash on Highway 41, near Micksburg Road, in North Algona-Wilberforce Township on Wednesday afternoon. “As part of the investigation, a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing,” the OPP said in a media release. “Test results were more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit.” The driver was not seriously injured. The driver is facing charges of operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 mg plus. Police say the accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days.
