TWEED, Ont. - Victims of serial sex-killer Russell Williams met privately with Ontario Provincial Police on Wednesday night.
Several victims of the break-ins in Tweed met with police in an "open and candid conversation," Sgt. Kristine Rae said in an interview.
She would not go into the details, but said it was a "very calm meeting" that should help the victims heal and help police in future cases.
There are no plans for further meetings with the victims but Rae said they would meet again with them if asked.
Williams is serving a life sentence for two murders and more than 80 other crimes -- many committed near Tweed, a village in eastern Ontario.
Rae said it is a good sign that the victims are banding together.
"They have come together and they are trying to heal in a joint effort, it's very good to see community members doing that for each other."
Williams, who commanded CFB Trenton, was stripped of his medals and rank of colonel following his conviction last week.
Williams pleaded guilty to fetish break-ins that began in 2007 and escalated to sexual assaults and murder.
Williams tortured, raped and murdered Marie-France Comeau, a 37-year-old military flight attendant under his command, and Jessica Lloyd, 27, who worked for a school bus company.
