TORONTO - Ottawa-born actress Kelly Rowan, who starred in the teen soap "The O.C.," has given birth to a girl and recently split with Canadian multi-millionaire David Thomson, one of the world's richest men.

Her representative told People and Hello Magazines that Rowan gave birth to a girl on April 28 in Los Angeles.

Rowan portrayed Kirsten Cohen on the Fox prime-time soap for more than three years.

About a year ago, Rowan's publicist announced that the actress was engaged to business mogul Thomson, the son of the late Ken Thomson.

However, according to reports, the pair have since parted company.

Thomson is the father of three children - two teenaged girls from his first marriage, and a young boy from his second union.

Maclean's magazine has reported that Thomson stunned his second wife, Laurie Ludwick, by serving her divorce papers last year just hours after she'd checked out of the hospital where she'd given birth.
